Volume physical release ready to go.

After announcing earlier in March of this year that Mike Bithellís indie stealth-hit Volume, will be receiving a limited physical release on PlayStation Vita; Limited Run Games have now finally revealed a release date along with print numbers for the game title.

Set for release later next month (October), Volume will see a print run of 5,000 copies with Limited Run Games clearly anticipating a high demand from handheld game fans. The PlayStation Vita cart will be a fully up-to-date patched version of the title as Limited Run Games Doug Bogart informs me ď[Volume is] all ready to go patch wise, we always strive for thatĒ.

As usual - and with all Limited Run Games releases thus far - the title will go on sale with two allocated shipments - in order to best facilitate gamers around the world - with half of the 5,000 allotment going on sale at 10AM ET (3PM UK time) and the other half 6PM ET (11PM UK time).

But thatís not all gamers can look forward to in October, with the announcement of two critically acclaimed Shantae titles from developer WayForward getting limited physical releases for the PlayStation 4.

Both titles; Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and Shantae: Riskyís Revenge will each be limited to a slight increase of 6,000 units and also be the first titles in the Limited Run Games family to receive reversible cover art.

Starting itís life on the Game Boy Colour, Santae is a fast-paced, platforming series of games that has you play as a half-genie in order to protect her land. The games generally revolve around collecting new powers over the course of the game to best the villain currently wreaking havoc.

Fans of Mike Bithell may also be interested in picking up his seminal title in just a few days, with the release of Thomas Was Alone for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on September 30th with 4,000 copies apiece and priced at the usual $24.99 (roughly £19).

Alongside the release of Thomas Was Alone will be the first Japanese-developed title to hit the Limited Run Games stable, in the form of Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics from Spike Chunsoft.

Limited Run Games are headed up by a team consisting of Mighty Rabbit Studios, a game developer based in North Carolina, USA - their first few titles were all published for the iOS platform.

Developer Mike Bithell began his career at Blitz Games before setting out on his own with indie-hit Thomas Was Alone.

WayFoward first developed Shantae back on the Game Boy Colour where it was published by Capcom in 2002.

One Way Heroics started it's life at Japanese indie gamer gathering BitSummit, before turning into a full title and release in 2015 (in Japan).
